Best Gold Prospecting Places

where is the best place to prospect for gold in the southeastern part of the U.S.A.?

I live in north central AL. and I am looking for somewhere close to go prospecting.

This is kinda the wrong section.

But the first American gold rush was in Georgia. There is still gold there to be found. Matter of fact I watched a tv show about a mine in Georgia yesterday.

Best advice…join the GPAA, a state GPAA or other regional club, or at least get a subscription to their or Prospecting and Mining Journal magazines.
