Who actually sells gold?

I am wondering what type of companies actually sell the stuff like gold dust and gold bullion? I asked some gold producers but they said no. Where would I find companies that sell small and large quantities or gold?

You can invest in gold companies (mining) but that is not exactly buying gold.

One site that i trust for buying actual bullion is bullionvault.com – they let you buy very small amounts to very large amounts. They store it at their centers in Switerland, NY, or London.
