Depends on what part of Alaska you are going to be visiting. If you take the cruise I suggest a few places. If you go to Sitka, go to see the Eagles, and the Russian Orthodox church. If you go to Skagway, there’s not much to do. So there’s the train and shopping. That’s it. And that shopping has a few cool shops, other then that, same thing you’ll see everywhere else. Juneau, there’s the glacier first of all. If you can, take the helicopter ride onto the glacier. It’s an experience and a half. In Ketchikan, beware of a million jewelry stores. There’s Misty Fjords which should be #1 on your list if you can. Then There’s Saxman and Totem Bight. The totem pole places to visit. THere’s always charters in all the ports. Reds are running right now. Halibut is pretty good this time of year as well. The logging show in Ketchikan is fun to watch, but it’s not like it used to be. If your from the midwest, I”m sure you would’ve seen lumberjack shows like it before. Have fun, good luck, and if you need any info, or want a recommendation for a charter, let me know.
