Gold Panning In Oregon

Where can I get a rock professionally craked or sawed open?

I was gold panning in oregon, and found a medium size rock buried in the mud. I cracked a little of it, and a thin layer peeled off.
I’m pretty sure it’s a thunder egg, or it might even have gold inside. It definitely has something inside it, though.
So, without using my own hammer, where can I get it professionally ” sawed” or cracked open?

You could try the local university’s geology department, or perhaps a geology/gemological club in the area. The club would probably be very happy to do it if it really does look interesting. The university would probably be less apt, but if you could slip a grad student $5 he’d probably do it for you.
