Gold Panning Jamestown

Where is a good place to pan gold around Jamestown, Sonora, or Mariposa?

I posted this originally in the wrong place. I applogize. I am rather new to posting. I am hoping that someone might know of a good spot to pan a little gold, look for rocks, and take pictures in the Jamestown, Sonora, or Mariposa area.

Gold was discovered in Coloma, and they have a lot of good places to pan for gold on the American river. If that is too far, just about any place on the American river is a good place. I live about 10 miles from the North Fork of it, and my sister found quite a bit of gold in flakes.
