Where to find gold? SLUICE BOX HELP!!!?

I go sluicing sometimes and need to know more about it.We go to the Kern River in CA.The river is extremely low right now.I see a lot of people get a lot of gold but cant seem to find it.The dirt here is more like sand.How many buckets of dirt should I run through the sluice box before I pan it?Where should I dig to get my dirt?Should I get my dirt I the deep part of the river,shallow part,before the rapids, after the rapids,in the gullies coming down the hill,the side of the mountain???Where???Should water be going real fast through the sluice box or slower?How high should the water be going through the sluice box???

You dig on the inside bends of the river

you run it through the sluice, and you use the sand that is trapped in the sluice. That will be the densest sand, and most likely to contain gold
